Erotic poems, love letters, and sexy lingerie

Basket of Figs

By Ellen Bass

Bring me your pain, love. Spread
it out like fine rugs, silk sashes,
warm eggs, cinnamon
and cloves in burlap sacks. Show me

the detail, the intricate embroidery
on the collar, tiny shell buttons,
the hem stitched the way you were taught,
pricking just a thread, almost invisible.

Unclasp it like jewels, the gold
still hot from your body. Empty
your basket of figs. Spill your wine.

That hard nugget of pain, I would suck it,
cradling it on my tongue like the slick
seed of pomegranate. I would lift it

tenderly, as a great animal might
carry a small one in the private
cave of the mouth.

I do love a good erotic poem, and this a prime example of the sort I love best.

It is also a perfect choice for today…the opening of The Submissive’s Advent: 24 days of submissive introspection.

Right now, my love is mired in a dark lull. And if I could suck the pain away, I would…even though I, to a hefty degree, have been a catalyst. Between my uncooperative libido and inconsistency, a job He detests with a shitty night shift schedule, and a propensity for depression (especially in the dark season of winter), he’s simply not in the best place.

Get your copy of The Submissive’s Advent Calendar to follow along with the prompts. I’d love to see your interpretations. Post a link to your post in the comments so I can see what you come up with.

I lost track of my #love letter series since I dropped the Erotic Blog Posting Month (EROBLOPOMO) challenge. But, I’m going to stick with it for December and finish it out as a part of The Submissive’s Advent. It seems fitting…especially since the letter is timely and the audience is Him.

The inconsistency of my desire cracks the earth beneath your feet, weakening the strong foundation of love we have lain down. You need more from me than I can sometimes give, and yet we fight through the fits and starts this produces.

It is no more your fault than mine. We do not act, or refrain from acting, in malice, or even ignorance. We are simply faulted, messy humans who reach out, or recede, in mismatched ways.

But we stay.

#UnwrapMe

I am also planning to wear sexy/matching lingerie every day (I’ve gotten out of the habit and realize that it goes a long way to helping me feel sexier) and take a photo each day, with Him in mind. I’m calling this series #UnwrapMe, a secret surprise beneath my wrapping that only I (and whomever I allow to see) will know about. I imagine that if things were smoother between us, this would be His daily advent…not a piece of chocolate, but a carefully lingeried woman who desires Him.

As I mentioned in my intro post for this year’s advent challenge, I’m not sure if Mr. D is even reading my blog these days. But if He is, maybe these posts will hit the mark. If not, they’ll be waiting for Him when He returns.
