A long time ago, there used to be a Flash Fiction Friday meme. The original site is no longer available, but it was a fun and quick way to challenge myself in the art of fiction writing. Nothing serious…nothing terribly time-consuming. Just short, sexy stories based on images, keyword prompts, and extra bonus challenges.

I’ve missed FFF.

And so…I’m bringing it back! (I know, I know…like I need one more thing to keep track of…but summer is coming, and I’ll have a little more time to devote to the blog, so this seems like as good a time as any to give it a go).

The first challenge is this: write exactly 100 words in response to the image below

Go Here to Read the Rules (because, yes…there are etiquette expectations). Then write up your story and share it here. Afterward, be sure to read the other entries and vote for the ones you like best! Link-ups will be open on Fridays (12 am PST) and run through the following Thursday (11:59 pm PST). I’m putting it out a little early this first time, since it’s new, just to drum up awareness, but the link-up will not open until Friday.

NOTE: It’s perfectly okay to NOT follow the prompt/challenge. If you want to go your own way with your flash fiction, just keep it at 500 words or less.

If you have prompt ideas or images I can use, please send them my way!

  1. I love that you brought FFF back! I’ve been thinking about it lately and considered doing it myself. I used to love participating in it.
