Masturbating to Relax
There are a million and one good ways to relax, but I must say that masturbation is one of my top ten.
Here are my top three reasons…
It Helps Me sleep
I usually find myself seeking it out right when I go to bed. It takes me less than 5 minutes to climax (10 on a particularly tough night), and then boom, I’m off to the land of nod, mind cleared, daily stress minimized, and body-tension released. It’s not magic. In fact, it’s quite easy to explain how it works.
I have a basic vibrating dildo, but I rarely use it internally. I know that every woman’s body is different, and we all get off in different ways, but for me…this is how it goes. I don’t like to use the highest setting, not only because I don’t need it, but also because if I use a medium or lower setting, the climax tends to be less intense, which is more relaxing. My hot button, is literally my hot button. I set the vibration against my clit, usually to the side a bit, not directly on it. And when I find the sweet spot, I let my muscles go. The sensations wave in and out, and I often have to move the vibrator around for the best feelings. When I feel that the climax is rising, I press the vibrator harder against me, right beneath my clitoris. In this position, it hits both my clitoris and manages to hit my g-spot. That might sound weird as the g-spot is inside, but for me, it’s only just inside. A finger hooked inside would reach it, basically on the backside of my clitoris. So, the vibrations actually do reach it.
When I feel the swell of climax, every muscle in my body tenses, and I have to remind myself to breathe. This sudden and complete tensing of the body, all the way until the release, is a major reason that masturbation is so successful at helping us let it all go.
With a vibrator, my climax hits, and I usually turn the vibrations low, and lower, until it is completely off. And then I lay there, catching my breath, letting go of the all the tension.
Orgasms cause our body to release endorphins, which helps us relax (and puts us in a better mood). This – along with the tightening of muscles and subsequent release – in turn, helps us sleep better and more deeply.
It Keeps My Head in the Game
Masturbating on a regular basis keeps my body sexually engaged and aware. When I’m masturbating more often, I’m more likely to be thinking about and wanting sex. When I stop, I stop thinking about sex, and it’s easy for me to just let go of it altogether. It’s sort of like the habit of a daily workout.
I’ve done experiments where I’ve tried to masturbate every day. It’s not something I’ve ever kept up for long periods of time, but it has shown me that regular masturbation is directly related to regular sexual thoughts and more consistent sexual desire.
It Relieves Stress
The focus it takes to orgasm is similar to meditation. When masturbating, all other thoughts have to leave my mind. I give myself to the sensations, the feelings in my body, and am intent on pushing all of my physical and mental energy into achieving climax. This means I’m NOT thinking about the argument I got in at work earlier today or tomorrow’s to-do list. That kind of mental focus is hard to come by during most other daily activities. And it clears the mind like a reset button.
Quite honestly, now that I look at this…masturbation may be one of the most important keys to reviving my libido. It reduces stress and anxiety (which can definitely reduce sex drive), it improves mood, it helps with sleep, and releases endorphins. It also helps me to maintain a level of sexual connection to my own body and mind.
I think this and hydration are about to be my two most important health focuses in the coming weeks.
It’s not like any of us need more reasons to masturbate (because come on, it feels good…and that’s probably enough reason right there). But, just in case, here’s a helpful article from Self Magazine: “14 Benefits of Female Masturbation and Why Every Woman Should Do It.”

It’s part of a package of solutions, but by far the most gratifying.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve heard too many people talk about masturbation helping them sleep. But that’s part of my story in how I became a sub to Sir haha. I feel asleep masturbating because it took too long to climax.
I hope that you continue to reap the benefits of masturbation.

Me, too, my friend! Me, too…

Reading this it makes me think I need to get back to masturbating to relief the stress, and maybe get some proper sleep again. It has been too long since I last did it, or had any desire to do so. It might just help to clear my head some. Thank you for reminding me about the benefits masturbation can have 🙂
