The original theme for this month was “Blossoming,” but the world has provided us with a bizarre prompt of its own, and I would love to capture a bit of a time capsule our our thoughts and experiences during this time.
I know some people are tired of hearing about it…tired of talking about it. But, it doesn’t seem to be going away, even if we are choosing to ignore it (if that is even possible for anyone right now). This mess has affected us, in small and dramatic ways.
The theme title for this month is a play off of Love in the Time of Cholera, a book by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (worth a read if you like magical realism).
So take a moment to share how you have been affected by this virus, how it has shifted the way you live, how it has changed things for you and yours in positive or negative ways. It can be directly about you, or it can be a rant or rave about how others have dealt with it. It can be a rumination on your community’s reaction, an explanation of how it has altered your relationships, or a poem. Your prompt can be sexy or not, fiction or non-fiction.
Usually, I encourage us all to focus on the “erotic” part of the challenge, and that would certainly work…how is this mess shifting, changing, improving, or ruining your love/sex life?
But go ahead and take it in ANY direction that feels comfortable to you. I simply provide a few questions/prompts as a way to get you thinking IF you need the boost. There is NO OBLIGATION to use ANY of them! Use one, none, or all!
If you have any other ideas related to the theme, please share them in the comments so others might be inspired.
Remember, you can link-up as many times as you want during the month! Feel free to double up on memes, too. And if you have a past post that fits the theme, that works, as well!
And remember to link-back to this post and use the badge! Read others’ posts, comment, share what you love on Twitter! This is all about introspection, sharing what we learn, and supporting one another as writers and people.
Link-up will be open from May 1st to May 31st.
