Regular Features
I am updating my regular features. Many of these things I already do to some extent now, but I’m trying to simplify and figure out the best way to cover the most ground as possible without over-extending myself. I can’t manage to write every day, and sometimes other topics come up and trump the usual plans, but on the days that I can manage (and when the memes inspire), this is where I’m headed:
Monday:
Mindfulness Monday – I need a lot more mindfulness in my life, especially in the categories of sex and marriage. This is going to be my place to explore that.
Tuesday:
Meme Rotation (This will be the day I pick and choose between all the great sex blog memes out there. I can’t write for all of them all of the time, but I can make a concerted effort to share the love and follow the most inspiring prompts. For a list of the memes I regularly write for, see the bottom of the page.)
Thursday:
Yoga Moments (lessons in sensuality from the mat) – This will be a new feature I am introducing. I spend a lot of time doing and learning about yoga. It’s a good way to become more self-aware and more connected to one’s sensuality. So, it seems like a good (and personal) thing to share.
Saturday:
Brigit’s Erotic Bedtime Stories – I’m hoping to dedicate a little more time and a few more resources to this rather shakily started podcast.
Sunday –
Sex Toy Sunday – I have quite a few toys to review (in fact, I’m booked until the first week of January), so I’m making it a weekly commitment.
Sinful Sunday (I’m hoping I can do a better job at this than I’ve been doing recently. I might not manage every week, but…)
First day of the month – Erotic Journal Challenge prompt posted
Mornings on Twitter – #coffeerotica (the best of what I’m reading from my favorite bloggers – I’m doing this instead of Share Our Shit Saturday)
Weekends on Twitter – #EroticJournalChallenge shout outs and reminders
Those feature listed in bold print are of my own creation, so I’m putting them first in priority. And of course, any time I can overlap and kill more than one bird with a stone (what am awful, violent idiom), I will. There is a certain skill in that, and I need to do it better. Really, this is going to be the year of focusing on my own shit. I tend overextend myself playing everyone else’s games so I can feel connected and accepted, but I need to get my own house in order, and keep it running more smoothly.
Top 100 Sex Blogs 2019
I also wanted to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to Molly at Molly’s Daily Kiss for my placement on the Top 100 Sex Blogs 2019. I so did not see that coming, and I am so pleased and honored.
Smut Marathon
I am also pleased to announce that I will be a jury member for Smut Marathon 2020! I stepped in mid-2019 to take the place of another jury member who could no longer fill the position. It was a difficult and rewarding task, so I look forward to doing it again this year!
I encourage everyone to join in this year. It will definitely stretch your creative ability and push you in ways you never expected. If you like a challenge, the Smut Marathon might just be what you need.
A note about what I look for as a jury member:
–Good character development. I need to feel connected to them and understand their motivation.
–An engaging plot. Unless it’s really meant to just be a “scene,” please, please provide some conflict/tension/suspense and follow some sort of story arc.
–Something unique and memorable that makes your story stand out from the masses. Do the unexpected!
–Proofread. Please. No…really…please. I beg you.
–Start with action…don’t spend too much time describing or setting things up…keep description concise…and use dialogue to move the plot along. There is usually a pretty low word count requirement, so every word counts.
–Have fun! If you aren’t enjoying yourself, it will show.
And as always, I am grateful for your support! Thanks for reading, commenting, and being a part of my life.
I’m excited to see that you are jury member for Smut Marathon 2020! I’m going to give it a whirl as I do want to improve my writing skills and what better way to write and receive helpful feedback. I hope this schedule works for you and gives you the happiness and peace you desire.
I’m excited for you to join in with the marathon! It is such a fun challenge. I look forward to reading what you come up with.
