‘In the stillness of the mind, I saw myself as I am — unbound.”
— Nisargadatta Maharaj

In the quiet of the evening when there is no one else awake but me, and the animals have ceased to stir, I am still. Softness uncovers me and opens me to the night, which is less expectant than the day. I find myself unburdened by yesterday and tomorrow, allowed to swim in the here and now, nothing left to do. At these times, I see myself as as I am, outer shell removed, nothing left to constrict.

The lights are low, the sounds are subtle and muted by darkness, and I am about to fall asleep, but I thought I sneak in just this one little post.

It’s been awhile since I joined in with Lingerie is For Everyone, but tonight I found myself, curled up in bed in nothing but cotton panties and a cotton tank top. It may not be the sexiest “lingerie,” but I love the comfort of it…the “no-one-is-here-to-care” of it… Even the shades of gray contribute to the washed out simplicity of this get-up I’m wearing for no one.

Tomorrow, Mr. D will be back from His conference, and I’ll be back to sleeping nude the way He likes it. But, when He’s away, this is my preference.

This is me…unbound.
