A Letter to the Man Before

I don’t know why I’ve put this one off for so long…especially since I’m the one who comes up with the prompts. But, for some reason, it just hasn’t wanted to come out of me. It’s hard to say who my first love was, because as a young person, my concept of love was quite a bit different than it is now. I was one of those girls who developed crushes early and often (starting as early as 2nd grade), measuring my days and years by boys. Looking back, I realize how unhealthy that might sound, but honestly, I don’t think it was. It was innocent and sweet. What was…

    Brigit’s Favorite Things (#8/2019)

My three favorite stories this week were all pretty serious…but then, that doesn’t surprise me; I tend toward to the more literary. This first one, by kisungura really knocked it out of the park for me. When I saw the prompt photo (from The Barefoot Sub) for this week’s Masturbation Monday, I was sent for a loop. It was so dark, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. I made the (happy) mistake of coming across this story before I started even formulating a plan for my own possible response. K’s was so amazing, I just plain didn’t bother. Not because I’m particularly competitive, but because her…

The Erotic Journal Challenge #12: “Sexy”

This week’s prompt for The Erotic Journal Challenge is: What makes you feel sexy? Some of you might know right away, others of you (like me) might have gnaw on the idea for a bit. It might be one specific thing…it might be several…it might be physical, emotional, mental… Interpret it however you’d like. The nuts and bolts of the challenge: Each week, I will post a topic or question that I plan to explore in my own journal. I’m going to post them and add a link-up so that readers can get in on the challenge, too. I encourage you to respond in whatever way seems most authentic –…

Should We Go Back to D/s? Can We? And How?

This post has been revised in response to contacts and comments. I think when I initially posted it, there may have been some misunderstanding, so I’m adding some changes and clarifications.  When I go to books for information, I do so fully knowing that it is just ONE way to find out what I need to know. I’ve had several people simply say, “throw out the books and figure out what works for you both.” Which is sage advice…if we knew what worked for us. But we don’t. So going to a guidebook like this, even though much of it won’t work for us, is simply a starting point…a place…

    Sex Ed Should Last Forever

I’m still learning sex…at forty-two…because, let’s be honest, there’s a lot to learn, and I’m not about to claim expertise on a subject so vast and deep. That’s probably why my sex blog has lasted longer than any other I’ve started over the years: there’s simply a never-ending well of things to find out and share about sex. It begins when we’re young. We learn from what our parents tell us…or sometimes more from what they don’t. Maybe we learn a few things from our friends (some of which might be true). And then we fill in the blanks with our suppositions and fears and expectations. Schools jump in and…

    Dance Lessons

From the front row, I could see her legs flashing in and out of the red fabric of her dress as she moved across the stage. I wondered what the lotion she’d chosen smelled like…and if she’d applied it herself or if her lover had. I imagined my own hands touching the shiny, smooth brown skin. The music was slow at first, just as her movements were, seducing the audience. Hips swaying, her body twisting and turning, it was hard not to imagine her in knots beneath me, red sheets wrapping and cinching around her, writhing, achingly slowly. My pussy clenched at the thought, and I placed my hand on…

    My Top 15 Take-aways from Eroticon 2019

Like many others who attended Eroticon this year, I took away more information than my poor brain could really make sense of. In an attempt to pull it together and make my learning useful, I created a list of take-aways. This summarizes what I found most helpful from the sessions I attended. But, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a ton more that was useful and important. The sponsors were amazing: Fetish.com, LoveGivr, Sheets of San Francisco, Temptation Holidays, Hot Octopuss, Rocks-Off, ElectraStim… Very down to earth and conversational! I learned a lot and came away with ideas and a lengthy wish list. But the highlight of the whole weekend was…

    Freshly Laundered

Here we are in London, in a tiny flat with rickety single-paned windows and a shower that barely contains my ample behind. My first day of Eroticon is in the bag (and such a lot of information to process, I must admit). I know I’ve been a bit quiet, with the travel and days off due to wandering around visiting the sites. But, what I have learned here will definitely impact the content that you will see here in the days and weeks and months to come. For now, simply enjoy this place holder while I get my wits about me and find some time to write again.

The Erotic Journal Challenge #11: “Sex Ed”

This week’s Erotic Journal Challenge prompt is “Sex Ed.” What were you taught about sex as you grew up? What did you not know that you wished you’d known? What/how did you teach yourself? Who taught you the most? Did anyone teach you something “wrong” or in the “wrong way”? The nuts and bolts of the challenge: Each week, I will post a topic or question that I plan to explore in my own journal. I’m going to post them and add a link-up (my first ever!) so that readers can get in on the challenge, too. I encourage you to respond in whatever way seems most authentic – a…
